Portion Kdoshim


 

"Love your friend as you love you, I'm G-d" (19, 18)

Our Portion, Kedoshim, G-d commands us to "love of Israel."  "Love of Israel" means to love every Jew. How love is, as you love yourself and you pamper yourself, so you need to love and pamper the second.

Kedoshim always we reading during the counting of the Omer. The period between Passover and Shavuot we count the days until Receive the Torah, Shavuot.

Jewish people have a habit, during this period of counting the Omer we do not hair cutting, do not get married; do not hear music - mourning customs, Why? The students of Rabbi Akiva died during this period. Cause of their death was, because they did not respect each other, they had no love for Israel, encourage each other. So G-od punished them in this period between Passover & Shavuot died all twenty-four thousand students of Rabbi Akiva.

Rabbi Akiva's students were all righteous scholars are the best thing just fell on the one hand, and most difficult to implement on the other hand. Correction of this flaw is actually adding the love of Israel; this is the slogan Lubavitcher Rebbe teaches us for the Lag B'Omer: "Love of Israel - bring the Redeemer".

Redemption will come only if we add in the love of Israel. Thanks to that we get with the real redemption completed, immediately.
