All the creations were created from nothing into something. They don't go back to become nothing because of G-ds words which are in them. These words are nothing compared to G-d himself.  Just like when a person speaks, the words are considered nothing compared to his power of speech, and for sure compared to his power of thinking which the thoughts also have letters just they aren't really felt since they are more spiritual.
